IB: About IB MYP
The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) is a globally recognized educational framework tailored for students aged 11 to 16. Here at Roosevelt Middle School, we wholeheartedly embrace the IB MYP to foster a comprehensive and globally-minded approach to education. Our curriculum places a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary learning, inquiry-based teaching, and the cultivation of critical thinking skills.
Roosevelt Middle School is a Candidate School for the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program and we are excited to share that we are pursuing IB World authorization. These are schools that share a common philosophy, a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that New Bedford Public Schools and the Roosevelt School Community believe is important for our students.
Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programs:
- Primary Years Program (PYP)
- Middle Years Program (MYP)
- Diploma Program (DP)
- Career-related Program (CP)
